Meet Our Therapist

Dr. Smith is a licensed Clinical therapist, Life Coach, Clinical Supervisor, and NASM Certified Personal Training that works with a diverse population. She is also a Faculty member of Spalding University's School of Social Work. She facilitates Social Work CEU trainings, and is a strong community advocate. 

 

 Within the past 13 years, she has held a variety of positions in settings such as residential, community based, schools, hospitals, Department of Juvenile Justice and corrections and has worked with all ages within these settings.

 

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Pan-African Studies, a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Social Work all from the University of Louisville. She Also holds a Doctorate Degree in Social Work from Spalding University. Dr. Smith is also trained in EMDR and utilizes this therapeutic approach with her clients suffering from trauma. 

 

Dr. Smith grew up in the West End of Louisville in which she is passionate about giving back to her community.  She believes her life experiences are what makes her a compassionate and relatable therapist who sees potential in everyone. 

 

Dr.smith is a life-long learner who is currently a doctoral student at Spalding specializing in Community and Agency Leadership. 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, traveling and exercising.
